Microsoft cannot focus on few things, instead wanna become master of everything.. that's obviously is not a right strategy. MS seeing that world is plugged into RIA's and MS does not has anything in it.. So it introduces Silverlight. well! no one will like to install pathetic MS pluggins to see MS apps. On the other hand adobe Flash Player has 99% browser penetration, in addition adobe has offered AIR, a cross-platform, offline desktop app sdk. MS has no chance to compete here.. Another desperate failed attempt by MS.

I criticized windows versions, but I must admit that Windows XP - SP3 is stable.. so far.. Also I must admit that windows are easier to use then Linux etc..

Posers. I'm going to post a comment on this side since I have a feeling that everybody on the "against M$" haven't even work for the company or use the O/S. P.S. I don't work for the company but use both Mac and Windows. Where I vote seems irrelevant since the "noise" have overtaken this page. Fanboyism belongs in the "news voting site"... and not in here.

look, it's definately gotten a rap for being hailed as an evil corporation but it's really the price you pay when you're on top. ms doesn't have a snobby attitude like apple does and it does try to deliver quality products (of course they've failed sometimes, but it happens). MS isn't the perfect company but surely does deserve the popularity of it's products.

Mircrosoft can't even get it right with vista. Now they are trying to release another one!? Windows 7 anyone? There were to many products released like Windows Basic, Buisness, and Ultimate, and just upgrading from each one was a headache. Even Ultimate was just a rip off, and anyone could customize it to make it the same.

I work for MS and it's an awesome employer. I disagree with monopolistic and $ comments. I work in MCS and customer satisfaction is always our key success criteria. For last few years we are very serious about interoperability and our products work with all known vendors. Prime examples are WCF, IE8, ADFS and more recently Geneva etc.

You can find considerable information about microsoft's work environment online. Short version : Yes they provide numerous perks and treat employees well, so long as you're a work-a-holic. I've heard they'll even bus your family onto campus for dinner in the company dining facilities, just so you can work longer hours. Well, one way they shutdown their competitors is by hiring their best employees. So it's working ain't it? p.s. Yes, Vista suck, Mac OS X and Linux rule.
