They have pretty bad service. I had an appointment for Thursday and the service guy came on Friday. And worst of all he is saying that it was scheduled for Friday. Their phone gets disconnect all the time as well.

Stop Blocking the Internet

I had trouble getting to sites I use all the time (for email, development, etc) and was told that "Smart Packet Detection" was blocking them. Shouldn't it be called "Arbitrary Site Interception" instead?

I work for Comcast. I have my resume in the hands of several people. I've been told by my supervisor I have exceeded the average time per call. I was hired to take care of customers. I was not hired for any other purpose.

Horrible work environment... very abusive to employees in regards to performance stats, requiring sales, etc. Employees call this place the 'Meat Grinder' for a reason. Avoid like the plague...

When I first subscribed to Comcast in 2007, it had a useful, functioning search engine, recorded the shows I set up, and appeared to recognize repeats and know the difference between programming in English, and programming in Spanish. Then one day, everything changed: The menu changed, the search by date function, search by subject, search by actor went away. The DVR stopped recognizing the difference between new episodes and repeats, between English and Spanish. After living with a product that simply no longer functioned on any meaningful level for about 3 days, I called Comcast customer service and asked them why nothing worked any more. The reply was “we’ve dropped Microsoft;s browser and are having a few software issues in the transition to our new system, we anticipate we’ll have the bugs worked out in the next couple of weeks”. That was three years ago, and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN THEIR SOFTWARE HAS BEEN FIXED. It’s a JOKE. Whoever decided to replace the Microsoft/TV guide software, ought to be shot and THEN lynched. I HATE Comcast. They’re absolute MORONS, the product totally sucks, and YES, they flat out LIE and play games with your bill.

Comcast isn't a very progressive company when it comes to leadership. If you truly want to provide your customers with excellent customer service and avoid churn look to companies like Zappos. Now that is an inspired company model, especially where customer service is concerned. Their reps are set up to succeed, the environment is truly positive and they are given carte blanche to do what ever it takes to make the customers happy.
